In January 2016, the New York legal community lost a visionary leader: the Hon. Judith S. Kaye. In addition to her twenty-five years of service on the New York Court of Appeals, Judge Kaye was the Founding Chair of NYIAC, to which she brought her characteristic dedication and verve. The NYIAC Board of Directors has established the Judith S. Kaye Arbitration Lecture, to be given annually in conjunction with the Grand Central Forum.

This year, the Judith S. Kaye Arbitration Lecture will feature Gary Born, Chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group at Wilmer Hale, in the format of a conversation with Aníbal Sabater (Chaffetz Lindsay LLP) and Claudia Salomon (Latham & Watkins LLP).

The Lecture will be preceded by a panel of experts from around the world who will debate the question, “Is There a U.S. Culture of International Arbitration”? The panel, moderated by Caline Mouawad (King & Spalding LLP), will include Jalal El Ahdab (Ginestie Magellan Paley-Vincent), Claudia Frutos-Peterson (Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP), Gregory Litt (Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP), and Eloïse Obadia (Derains & Gharavi).
