Please note that we may use a third-party payment service to process payments made through the Services. If you wish to make a payment through the Services, your Personal Information may be collected by such third party and not by us, and will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy, rather than this Privacy Policy. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, this third party’s collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information.

If you submit any Personal Information relating to other people to us or to our service providers in connection with the Services, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  • Offline: We may collect Personal Information from you offline, such as when you visit NYIAC, meet with our representatives at a conference, or reserve an arbitration room over the phone.
  • From Other Sources: We may receive your Personal Information from other sources, such as public databases; joint marketing partners; social media platforms; from people with whom you are colleagues or connected on social media platforms, as well as from other third parties.

How We May Use Personal Information

We may use Personal Information:

  • To respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests, such as to assist with reservations or to send you newsletters.
  • To send administrative information to you, for example, information regarding the Services and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
  • To complete and fulfill a purchase, for example, to process your payments, have your order delivered to you, communicate with you regarding your purchase and provide you with related customer service.
  • To send you marketing communications that we believe may be of interest to you.
  • To facilitate social sharing functionality.

When do we collect Personal Information from you?

We collect Personal Information through the Services when you participate in various opportunities provided through the Services or at, at a hearing we are hosting or at a NYIAC sponsored event, for example:

  • When you make a purchase or book an event through the Services,
  • When you contact us through the Services or separately,
  • When you sign up for our communications, and
  • When you submit text or digital photos for an on-line profile.

How do we use your Personal Information?

We may use Personal Information:

  • to respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests, such as to respond to your questions or to provide hearing room advice.
  • to complete and fulfill your purchase, for example, to process your payments, have your registration or membership order confirmed, communicate with you regarding your purchase and provide you with related customer service in connection with hearing room reservations and/or events.
  • to send you important information regarding the Services, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information, including communications regarding your orders.
    to tell you about products, programs, services and promotions that we believe may be of interest to you.
  • to personalize your experience on the Services by presenting products and offers tailored to you.
  • to allow you to send messages to a friend through the Services. By using this functionality, you are telling us that you are entitled to use and provide us with your friend’s name and email address. We will not use your friend’s Personal Information for any other purpose other than to allow the email to be sent, unless your friend consents.
  • for our internal business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, developing new products, enhancing our website, improving our services, identifying usage trends and determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns.

We and our third-party service providers may collect Other Information in a variety of ways, including:

    • What is an IP Address?
      Your “IP Address” is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
    • How do we collect IP Addresses?
      An IP Address is identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever a user visits or uses the Services, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. Collecting IP Addresses is standard practice on the Internet and is done automatically by many web sites.
    • How do we use and disclose IP Addresses?
      We may use IP addresses for purposes such as calculating Services usage levels, helping diagnose server problems, customizing Services content and promotions, directing you to appropriate areas of the Services, tracking and analyzing user behavior on the Services, and administering the Services. This Privacy Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site or service to which the Services link. The inclusion of a link on the Services does not imply endorsement of the linked site or service by us.

Please note that we are not responsible for the collection, usage and disclosure policies and practices (including the data security practices) of other organizations, such as Meta, Apple, Google, Microsoft, RIM or any other app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including any Personal Information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Apps or our Social Media Pages.

Do Not Track Signals

We do not respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services.

Security

Your Personal Information will be maintained on our servers or the servers of our service providers and will be accessible by our authorized employees, representatives and service providers who require access in connection with their job responsibilities. We implement and maintain reasonable organizational, technical and administrative security procedures and practices that are appropriate to the nature of the Personal Information we collect.
