“Don’t Wear a Wrap Dress and Other Valuable Lessons Learned From Chief Judge Judith Kaye” — Remembering Our Founding Chair

Delighted to reshare, from the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), a warm and wonderfully specific remembrance by Judge Kaye’s former colleague, Jennifer Smith: “Don’t Wear a Wrap Dress and Other Valuable Lessons Learned From Chief Judge Judith Kaye.”

Judge Kaye was NYIAC’s Founding Chair, and she took the Center from an idea to a reality, with the same warmth, rigor, and humor captured here. This article shares the person behind the biography: the impeccable dresser who wanted more red shoes on the bench, the walker who covered thirty blocks to the office in any weather, the colleague who knew everyone’s name and their children’s birthdays.

Special thanks to Jennifer Smith and NYSBA for a celebratory, deeply personal portrait of a leader whose example still guides us.
