The Latin American Chamber of Commerce Presents The Power of Women in Conflict Resolution in Celebration of International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are honoured to invite you to The Power of Women in Conflict Resolution, a conversation that aims to shed light on the pivotal role women play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

The event will feature a panel discussion with the Ambassadors of Chile, South Africa, and Ukraine.

​According to the last data by the United Nations, over 600 million women and girls lived in conflict-affected countries in 2022, a 50% increase since 2017.​ Despite bearing the brunt of violent conflicts, women’s representation in peace processes remains disproportionately low. In 2022, women constituted only 16% of negotiators in active peace processes led or co-led by the UN, a decline from previous years.​ This underrepresentation persists even though inclusive peace processes are more likely to result in lasting ​peace agreements.
