The American Bar Association International Law Section (ABA ILS) Presents Examining the Role of Minerals in Conflict

This program will explore how ‘conflict’ minerals create, destabilize, and prolong conflict in Ukraine, Sudan, and Burma. It will discuss how laws operate in these situations, and how actors strategically use minerals to gain advantages. The panel will examine the international community’s responses through legal mechanisms, and how it can better respond where minerals play a factor in conflict.
