
This lecture will introduce the “information gap” surrounding the independence and impartiality of arbitrators, a gap that is traditionally filled in part by the arbitrator disclosure requirements. Reflecting on the standards developed to determine the independence and impartiality of an arbitrator coupled with the institutional challenge procedures, this lecture will explore why predictive AI might be a particularly suitable tool for evaluating the chances of success on challenges with the potential of reducing challenges generally.
